A really GOOD Commissioner would probably supply a scouting sheet for all the draftable players. The commissioner we have has never done that.

Commissioner’s Recommendation:  

Blair Henley represents a unique opportunity to answer an important question: what is the purpose of your EFL calling?  Is it to accumulate wins — to fill your silos with them?  To what end?

Or is your EFL calling about loving your neighbor?  

Blair Henley is in pain. Before he could finish his first inning as a big league pitcher, a gang of Rangers beat him up and left him by the side of the first base line. Instead of his clothes and his money, they took something far more valuable and irreplaceable. 

According to Fangraphs, Henley’s current position on the Astros depth chart is as their TENTH starter …in  AAA. There are 9 AAA starters above him.  And there are NINE MORE above them at the Major League level — including the 4 who are slated for the MLB IL. 

Come to think of it, leaving him so deeply buried in the wreckage of his career took a LOT of his money after all. More than 99% of it, potentially.

Henley is 27.8 years old.  He doesn’t have much time to recover — if it’s even possible to recover from a 135.00 career ERA.  Or an 81.00 career BB/9 ratio. 

IF your team is just another money-grubbing, self-grandizing racket — like U of O and its fellow Pac-12 traitors — then, sure, grab yourself a Yamamoto or a Skene with your earliest pick. But if you are ready to use your privileges and opportunities to lift up a fellow child of God, and make a real difference in his life: please consider the case of poor Blair Henley and the family (if it exists) depending on him for their livelihood.
