I combined two days of results and picked out a highlight for each team. The individual highlights were puny comparedt to Tyler Tolbert’s career highlight 12-straight-hits-including-2-homers at the start of the week. But all of us together — in league with each other — pulled of a good win for the week over our MLB opponents. Yay us!!
(NOTE: I’ve ginned up a schedule for the last 11 weeks. Had to do it twice since Google Sheets lost my first one as soon as I got it done. It’ll be posted in the next day or so. Also – I will work on updating defense stats this week. It’s supposed tobe in “late July” but the truly late part of this July is going to be hectic (in good ways) for me this year, so I’m going to count “finishing after July 15” as “late.” They won’t affect our games until our belated August starts, but you’ll want to know how things look as we approach the trade deadline.
For those of you wondering when Tarik Skubal will go on the trading block… it’s under consideration. The W’s have one week after the All Star Game to demonstrate they have a chance to vie for the EFL pennant. I’ll let everyone know when I’m ready, and what my basic vision is for a trade.

Best Tornado performance of the weekend? James Wood, who went 4 for 9 with two homers and two walks over the two days.
Cascadia: Saturday: MLB 1.4, Cascadia (-0.4). Sunday: MLB 0.1, Cascadia (-0.1). MLB wins the series, 5.0 – 1.0.
Best Glacial performance of the weekend? I don’t know, but the most disappointing might be Yoshinobu Yamamoto surrendering 6 earned runs in 6 innings on Saturday.
Peshastin: Saturday: MLB 0.6, Peshastin 0.4. Sunday: Peshastin 1.0, MLB (-1.0). MLB wins the series, 3.2 – 2.8.
Best Pear performance of the weekend? All that great pitching on Sunday that stole an entire win from MLB. Emerson Hancock’s injury is a worry, but Taj Bradley went 7 innings, 2 er, and Will Warren went 5 for 1 er: Team Total Sunday: 17 2/3 innings, 3 earned runs.
DC: Saturday: MLB 0.6, DC 0.4. Sunday: DC 0.3, MLB (-0.3). DC wins the series, 4.2 – 1.8.
Best Balky performance of the weekend? Gage Jump: 5 2/3, 1 er Saturday, by a nose over two other started Sunday who combined for 9 2/3 ip, 2 er.

Best Allegheny performance of the weekend? Kind of slim pickings here, but I think the best was Erick Fedes 4 shutout innings on Saturday.

Best decorative plant performance of the weekend? Zach Thornton’s 7 shutout innings on Sunday.
Saturday: MLB won the day, 6.6 – 4.4 EFL leads the series, 34.0 – 32.0.
Sunday: EFL wins the day, 1.5 – (-1.5). The EFL wins the series, 35.5 – 30.5. Our season record at the All-Star break is 523.3 – 532.7, a .4955 winning percentage. We are still 9.4 games under .500, and we each still have 6 games left against MLB competition, one EFL team per week for the last 11 weeks. We gained 5 games in week 16. We’ll have to do better to gain 9.4 by the end of the season. But at least we’ve made it a possibility!.
